WELCOME TO HYPERJUMP. Hello, everyone! First of all: welcome to the game! Next: thank you so much for joining us in this crazy journey. We're really excited to have everyone here, and we hope the feeling is mutual. ♥ This post serves as a catch-all introduction post for everyone so please comment here instead of making a new post so everyone can meet one another and know who's playing who. This post also doubles as our first CR/Friending meme to keep things in one place. To start with, hello! We are your friendly navigators: Hyper & Jump. (We're lame, we know.) hello!! my name's kerry and i play vanessa ives from penny dreadful. vanessa is a victorian witch who, despite being one of the loveliest people that you could meet, has been plagued and hunted throughout her life by creatures. specifically lucifer and dracula but at the moment she's only aware of the former.

she's arriving in after having lost everything comforting in her life with her canon point being 301 the day tennyson died. it means that she might take a little while to warm up to anyone but persistence may be rewarded. being a witch, along with her magic, also means that vanessa is clairvoyant. i have a permissions/plotting post here for that.

hello everyone! kou here, and i'm excited to bring you one (1) belligerent twenty-something captain from an obscure crime drama manga with some supernatural twists! this is shouta mikoshiba from DOLLS, a series about the misadventures of government-sanctioned executioners in a spooky dystopian empire. it's about as crazy as it sounds, and no one knows that better than shouta here.

he's coming in from post-canon (spoiler: post-death) so that'll be a fun time for him. despite having a pretty short fuse and being an authority in the killing-people industry (which he tries not to advertise if he can help it), he's a kind, cavalier person who has a strong sense of justice and likes to operate on his own terms. in short: he will go to absurd lengths to recklessly love and support you and make sure your emotional needs are tended to if you're having a struggle. even if you're not having a struggle. he's a people person, what can he say.

he also might be a little clairvoyant, but he hasn't quite gotten used to that yet, oops.

you can read more about him and his canon over here if you're so inclined! being a crime drama, there are some sensitive topics that come up, so feel free to drop a comment there or on my hmd if you'd like me to avoid or go easy on any of these.

hi! i'm katy and this is gaelio bauduin from one of a billion different gundam series' called iron-blooded orphans. he's... tall, wannabe dark, twenty-eight years old but feeling sixty, and has a cute facial scar and looks like he hasn't seen a barber in two years. he's a pretty nice person, though he acts stupidly aloof and pretentious nowadays. he found the cryptic wall clinging life and is desperately clinging to it.

he's basically a space soldier who used to be an auditor and his colour is purple so his flight suit and his gundam are, of course, purple. he has some trauma about friendship nowadays but generally believes in the power of love and friendship so he's actually a weird, sentimental softie. he's gonna spend most of his time thinking about dead friends, yikes.

i'm sam and i'm bringing in inquisitor ariasa lavellan from dragon age: inquisition. as a forewarning, i forgot to screencap a lot of earlier cutscenes so some of my icons will have ari here with no tattoo and some with the tattoo, her canon point though is WITH the tattoo. when i actually get to make icons ofc....

lavellan is the leader of an inquisition she never actually asked to be a part of. but you know. the world will end if she doesn't help, so. hands are kinda tied here. she does her best and really she just wants to set the world back to normal. including making her hand not glow weirdly green sometimes but you knooooow. these things happen.

i thought i was done playing this loser but i guess not. my name is fidgey and i'm bringing gintoki sakata from gintama! i've had him in a couple of games in the past so maybe we've played together before.

gintoki comes from a bizarre alternate japan in the late 1800's where the japanese government has been taken over by aliens called amanto. while doing so, they've put a ban on samurai using real swords. gintoki was a legend back in the day, but now that he's out of work, he's a free lancer and will do anything given payment. he's a piece of garbage tbh but underneath all of that garbage he's got that typical ~*golden shounen heart*~ going on. he's pretty crass, rude and appears to be uncaring on the outside but he's actually very loyal once somebody becomes his friend or he finds somebody to protect.

he really likes reading shounen jump, eating parfaits and sleeping when he isn't saving the world.

gintoki is very self-aware and 4th walls a WHOLE LOT. please comment here if you don't want your character to be recognized or if you don't want him to go off on one of his stupid "main character" tangents. i'm taking him from episode 345 / lesson 605 in the silver soul arc before the shinsengumi back to town.

I'm Kat and I'm bringing in Victra au Julii from the novel series Red Rising by Pierce Brown. For those who don't know the series, it's set in the future when centuries of forced eugenics have produced basically color-coded species of humans who all have their specific function in society. And only one man can bring it all down (DUN DUN). Victra is a Gold which means, you know, she's the best. She's the strongest, the smartest, the most beautiful and the deadliest. And she knows it. Which means, she's, you know, a bitch. She's honest to a fault too which can make conversations with her unpleasant. But once you've earned her respect (it's possible), she is the most loyal, ride or die friend you could ever have. And she's fun, too. If you like casual ass grabbing.

Hello! I’m Froda, and I’ve got here 1 (one) cowboy Jedi, aka Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars: Rebels! If you’re not familiar, Rebels is basically like Firefly but in the SW universe and our heroes, naturally, are fighting the Empire in the years before A New Hope. Kanan is a former Jedi Padawan who managed to survive Order 66 (and got to watch his clone trooper buddies murder his master, yay) and has only recently begun taking up the Jedi way of life again. He’s coming from the absurdly early canon point of 1x13, when he’s just been captured by the Empire, so he’ll be disoriented but happy he’s not being tortured???

I'm Kate and I play Maggie Lacivi from Ava's Demon. Maggie is a girl who's aesthetic is pretty boys and her favorite past time is bullying the demon she made a pact with. She grew up on a TITAN education planet full of children and teenagers. Parents? She doesn't know them.

Maggie's canon point is from the recent chapters (chapter 22-23) after her friend sort of kind of ruined her chances of being a follower of TITAN (to mostly get on a cute boy's good side but shh) by murdering a whole crowd of people via lava. Yikes. With her pact powers, she can grow giant tree arms or turn them into viney branches. She can be a bit rude and also has a small habit of lying to get what she wants.

Hello Everybody! I'm MJ and I play Takeshi Kovacs from the Netflix series Altered Carbon. He's coming from the end of season 1 in which he's solved a couple crimes and shot up a whole lot of people. He's from a world far far into the future from our own in which people have managed to travel the stars and settled worlds by way of transference of digital human freight — DHF for short — between bodies which are called sleeves. This has rendered the rich essentially immortal which is a thing that Kovacs isn't especially fond of.

He's kind of bad at this friends thing, though by the end of the season he's gotten a bit better at it. Oh and did I mention he's technically 284? He's doing okay for himself, but feel free to make a crack about him being an old man. A very brief info and permissions post can be found here

the essential run down of his character is that he's a fucked off child of legacy that ran away to join the bad guys. who is also a space wizard. can't forget that, it's super important. as per his canon point he's coming straight from crait, where he's just had his ass handed to him by his uncle who wasn't even there.
